It happens to everyone to dream. Our dreams have meanings. To find out what your dreams mean, check out the categories below.

Nothing in the world is more paradoxical than dreams. Whether they are wild, strange, stupid or shocking, they can definitely seems unreal. We live it with an intensity, a presence, an emotion that we often don’t experience in our waking life. However, when we wake up, the images disperse like mist: the major and most moving events can stay in your mind longer but eventually they will disappear for good. But some pieces of this dream may reappear in another dream. Or worse, they may come back into our consciousness while we are perfectly awake, but without showing themselves as the image of the dream. Hence the expression “You dreamed it”. This expression has a double meaning, sometimes it is a simple statement a little mocking and sometimes the expression of the pure truth. In this case, one realizes that in our memory coexists, with the same value, real memories and dream memories!

Which brings us to another paradox of these manifestations of thought in sleep: all civilizations have tried to answer the question “What is the use of dreams? ». And this is where science comes in. After thinkers, philosophers, doctors, biologists have patiently dissected countless dreams, the answer has been so long in coming out that we do not yet know it in its entirety. It is undoubtedly multiple, which is difficult to accept for our Cartesian minds, it disturbs logic. We like things to be univocal: a broom is used to sweep, a scythe to mow… Imagining that dreams can be used to memorize, to protect the quality of sleep, to communicate and many other things can be quiet disturbing. It can be difficult to accept that dreams are carrying real messages.

There is a lot of information on this subject from many different sources. One of the first questions that comes to mind is: where do these messages come from? In ancient times, the answer was simple: it was a message from the Gods. With the Freudian revolution, explanations became more scientific: to simplify, we can say that our unconscious is trying to reveal deeply buried desires. Nowadays, many specialists refute Freudian theories and claim that they are totally outdated. This would be too simple. The Freudian explanation of dreams is as accurate as ever, but perhaps it is insufficient. Because just as the dream has several functions, the same dream sends us several messages. It seems logical to assert that at least one of the interpretations of this dream will be Freudian. Others are not and moreover do not come from our unconscious, at least in the Freudian sense of the word. For example messages coming directly from a point in our body usually appears to warn us of a slight disorder: having to pee in a dream often means that you have to wake up and go to the toilet!

In front of so many possibilities, in front of the richness of the world of dreams, one can feel lost. Not trying to understand them from another side would be terrible. It is important to understand that interpreting dreams require precision and reflection. But this effort is nothing compared to the benefits it will bring you in terms of self-understanding and personal development.
